Pregnancy complaints (I can whine if I want to)

Why is it that when you are pregnant, the answer to any ailment is pregnancy?

I tell my doctor, "I have back pain... that started before I was pregnant."
He says, "Oh, it's because you're pregnant."
What's that about? Did he not hear the word 'before'? That was discussed when I was about 3 months along which was way before my pants started feeling snug. I understand that once your belly gets bigger your back might start hurting, but I had barely gained 5 lbs...

I also don't understand why everyone is so eager to tell you how bad it is. Why can they tell me several times in one day, "Wow! Your belly is getting big!" but if I say it, the answer is always, "Oh, just wait. It only gets worse." I know I will be growing bigger. I was only trying to comment on how big it is right now. It's definitely bigger than it has ever been. And I know, before this is over, that it will be much bigger than it is now.

I have had several people also point out to me that I'll be pregnant during the summer. Yep. I figured that one out when I found out that I was pregnant and calculated my due date. I once commented on how I haven't been any warmer than I usually am, and I had someone tell me that I will be hotter, just wait... it gets worse. Well, aside from being hot at work (which is totally normal in a generally un-air conditioned building in the middle of the summer), I've been alright.

And my personal favorite, "Oh, have you been sick?"
"Not really"
"Oh. (with a tone of disappointment and a look of disgust) Oh, that's great."

Hmmmm..... not having ever been pregnant, I don't think I will try to tell you that pregnancy predisposes you to whining a little.... I whine a lot, and I am just an old guy that feels pretty worn out some days.

Seriously, I hope that the summer is easy for you, and am looking forward a lot to this new little life. I imagine that she will love reading, and fantasy books. That will be fun. I am looking forward to reading 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' to her. Have a nice night Sweet Boo.

I guess everyone wants to give advice, or let you know they also went through this too. I hate when total strangers come up and give you advice.
And when they do, you don't want to say something rude back to them like

"duh! I knew that."

I am so happy you are pregnant. That is part of the experience, and even though it is uncomfortable, it is so sweet to think about being in partnership with God in bringing this sweet spirit down from Heaven.

Even though I was uncomfortable, I savored all 6 of my pregnancies, knowing I would never experience this again.

see you Sunday

i know it is like people want you to suffer or something. like they thrive on seeing you miserable. mostly i have tried my hardest to say, "you just wait..." because that is one thing that i HATE people to say to me. i already know it is going to be bad you don't have to put your two cents in lady!
and why is it that EVERYONE has to comment as they walk by... are they reminding you that you are pregnant? like you need a reminder or something... hello! i know that i am pregnant (or was). my absolute favorite is when they tell you that your scrubs are getting snug. did i comment on how their clothing fit? NO! but i surely will if they want me to... i'll tell them they have ugly pants. ggggrrrrr! stupid people!

and why does everyone think they have to one-up you? can't you just say one thing and have them JUST agree? i HATE that, w/pregnancy or whatever. you cant just tell someone something and have them say. "i know right?" that's really all you need.
yeah, about blaming everything on it, my friend @ work has something wrong in her girl parts (cysts maybe?) she's been on birthcontrol since she started@ 12 and it doesnt matter if she has a toothache or a planter's wart on her foot, her dr. just blames it on her girl-part disease. it makes her crazy! she could probably identify w/you a bit :)

So I look at Katie's blog every week . . . just waiting for the day I would see your name. And it's finally come! How are you? Pregnant, I'm a little jealous . . . Congrats! What else, how long have you been married? Where'd you meet? Home owner, jealous again. Gees, I haven't seen you since High School I think. Anyway, keep in touch.
